barely being able to pull on her own shoes by herself, was starting to get onto irina's nerves. sure, she loved the two tiny babies that were inside of her, but that did not change the fact she missed being able to see her feet. being eight months pregnant with twins was hard and tiresome. she wanted to meet her sons, she wanted to see their faces, and learn their personalities. she couldn't wait to be a mother, even though she was in it by herself. her parents had shipped her off to here not long after she found out she was pregnant, and told them that her own best friend,-- a boy they thought they could trust to not sleep with their daughter -- was the father to the babies. but at that point, it was a thought that there would only be one baby. boy, that was wrong. two tiny little boys were inside of her, and rini was so excited to meet them
she missed tyler, there was no doubt about that. she never had ever thought of being anything more then friends with him, but that night when they both were extremely drunk eight months ago seemed to prove otherwise. sure, the seventeen year old never thought of tyler ever doing that to her, but she liked it all the same. she didn't care that they were his boys that were in her, hell, she was happy they had him as father. he was good looking, and a total sweetheart. so they had to be good children, right? of course they would. walking out of the double doors, the girl waddled her way around the bright green grounds. it was pretty here, no doubt about that. she liked it here, sure it would be better with tyler around, but she knew that her parents would never tell him where she was. which, in all honesty, wasn't terribly fair to either of the two, or the twins. they had a right to know their father, or at least that's how irina saw it.
feeling one of the twins kick, she put her hand gently on her huge stomach, patting it gently. it didn't really hurt per say, but she didn't like the feeling of her organs being kicked around. sure, she knew it meant that they were healthy and growing properly, but that didn't change the fact that it was weird to feel. sitting down on one of the benches, she knew it would only be a matter of time before one of them kicked a nerve that went down to her legs and knocked her clean off her feet onto the ground. it happened a few times, and she was never able to get up on her own, because she was so big she couldn't move. generally speaking, the rest of the girl was rather thin, so she looked very awkward to be eight months pregnant with twins.
they were always trying to get her to gain some weight, but the girl just never was able to hold onto the weight. she was always going to be small, as she stood at only about five foot two, and not being pregnant only about a hundred or so pounds. she was built skinny, and generally was a hugely pick eater, so she never was going to be overweight. so, looking at her, she looked so awkward. the girl knew that she still had to come up with names for the twins, but she had no idea what to name them. do they get her name or tyler's? what if they don't fit their names after they are born? she was going to name them when they were born, though, she kind of liked the names august and october for first names, and she didn't have a clue about middle names.
sighing a bit, she chewed on her lip as she felt a small contraction, just a practice one she was told, but damn did they hurt. she moved uncomfortably, and sucked in sharply before exhaling slowly. she lied, she hated being pregnant. she wanted the twins out now. but, they weren't ready to come out just yet.

Post by CASSANDRA LOUISE THOMPSON on Mar 22, 2012 22:49:02 GMT -5
Cassandra eyed her reflection critically in the bathroom mirror. "Cassie Louise," she muttered under her breath, "you look like absolute hell."
This was, perhaps, something of a hyperbole. She looked disheveled, and certainly less than her usual self, but it could have been worse. Her acne had been worse than usual these past few months, but it had finally begun to ease up. There were dark circles under her eyes, a testament to hormone-driven sleepless nights, and her skin was unusually pale. Today, even her hair seemed to be conspiring against her- it just wouldn't lie flat! The overall effect, however, would have been barely noticeable had Cassandra not been so sensitive on the subject. When had she become so shallow? It wasn't like her to care about her appearance like this. She sighed; it was just another of a laundry list of unpleasant changes.
Glancing around to make sure that nobody was about to come in, she lifted up her shirt. It was so utterly bizarre to think that two tiny humans were taking shape there, under her skin. Two little heartbeats, two tiny bodies with legs that would soon begin to kick her. Her once flat stomach now began to curve ever so slightly outwards. It wasn't too obvious yet, and was still more difficult to see when her stomach was covered, but still. Here it was. Irrefutable proof that in just six months time, she would be a mother.
The revelation still shocked her whenever she thought about it, as if she had just expected the twins to vanish if she ignored their existence. She sighed again, pulling her shirt down. She supposed that she still hadn't come to terms with... that boy's betrayal. (She wouldn't even think his name. She didn't need to spend the rest of the day blinking back tears, thank you very much.) She ran the tap, trying to drown the traitorous word out of her head. It almost worked- by the time she finished washing her hands, her eyes were no longer quite so suspiciously bright.
It irked her, how much it still hurt. She left the bathroom, slamming the door behind her with a bit more force than she had intended. It still hurt, dammit. She was alone, alone with two children to raise. Her parents might be paying for her, but she harbored no illusions as to her place in her family. She had been effectively cut out, told to not talk to her little brothers, as she might "distract them from their schoolwork." Hah. She knew what that meant, all right. Her parents might not have come out and said, "we don't want you corrupting our innocent boys," but that was what they meant. Even-tempered though she was, Cassandra couldn't help but feel resentful.
She stepped outside, shielding her eyes from the afternoon sun. At least people in this place understood what she was going through. Not that she had been able to open up with many people- she hadn't. Wherever she was, she was still shy, still awkward and unable to make friends easily. But here she wasn't the lone pregnant girl, the weird mistake for everyone to gawk at. Here, everyone had a story to tell. And though she was almost unbearably jealous of the girls whose boyfriends had stuck by them and supported them, it helped her faith in humanity to know that not every man in the world was an absolute scumbag.
And she had made a few friends. Surprisingly good ones, too; what she would have done without Sloan when she first arrived... And speaking of friends, she thought she recognized the petite girl on a nearby bench. Cassandra smiled. Rini was one of the few girls she knew that was quieter than herself. She had instinctively liked her when she arrived, and it seemed thus far that this was completely justified. She headed over, but stopped as she saw an expression of pain flit across the other girl's face.
"Are you alright?" she asked, jogging over. She eyed her friend's enormous belly- it really couldn't be long before Rini's twins were born. Unless... "The babies aren't coming now, are they?" Cassandra forced down a stab of panic. Early contractions happened often enough, and she didn't think Rini was due just yet. The school was good about that- everything was laid out as far in advance as possible, allowing for a certain margin of error of course.
"And, er, hi, Irina." she added, somewhat belatedly. Pregnancy, Cassandra reflected ruefully, was hell on one's manners.

the young girl held her hand on her overly large stomach. twins. she had to be having twins, because being knocked up by her best friend just wasn't enough. she was a sweetheart, was nice to everyone, what did she do to deserve this? she was sure that she did nothing wrong to anyone, so this just had to be unfair karma against her. but it wasn't her fault that the karma fairies seemed to hate her, but it was to late to change anything now. she was eight months along, and pretty much the size of a whale. rini was extremely self-conscious, she never went out without make up or her hair done perfectly, or her outfit looking cute. even as big as she was, she still managed to make being pregnant with twins look cute.
the pure fact she was cute skinny was another factor. she was the kind of cute you see in a puppy. she was cute, quiet, shy, and was easily one of the sweetest people you'd ever met. she would never say or do anything to annoy anyone, or to make someone feel bad about anything. she'd even just sit there and listen if that was what you wanted her to do. she was so sweet, it was just so cute. she was also extremely scared of just about anyone, so she would try to hide the best that she could, whether or not it was behind a good amount of people, one person, or just putting her nose in a book and reading.
the poor thing was lost without her best friend, she was so scared when she showed up seven months ago, she had no idea what she was going to do with herself. she almost always sat by herself, unless one of the staff came to join her, she was shy, scared, and was very dis-attached to what was going on. she still was, for, the girl didn't follow anyone else's drama. sure. she made a few friends, but it just wasn't the same. she had cassandra, but rini never really got along with anyone except for tyler. she was to shut in, too guarded, too afraid of others to really open up to try to make friends.
feeling one of the twins kick her again, she made a small face of pain as another little contraction wave hit her. ouch. she was sure that the contractions shouldn't be doing this, but she'd go to the clinic later, it was nice out, and unless something went terribly wrong before an hour or so, she was going to stay outside. resting her hand on her stomach, she felt one of the babies kick her hand lightly, and she smiled a bit.
hearing a voice, irina jumped slightly, and looked up. cassandra. "oh. h-hi cassandra... um, yeah. i'm okay..." she said softly. the girl didn't have a very loud voice, so it was easy to miss what she said a lot of the time. she had that cute high pitched voice that you just think is the cutest thing ever. "n-no i d-don't think s-so.." she said, smiling down at her stomach. she wanted her babies, but not quite yet. they still had another month before they were due, so she was sure that they still needed time.
