Antoinette kept pointing at one of the pictures in her books of a park, which to Jasper meant that his daughter wanted to go to the park. since she didn't talk still, even after a year, hell, she barely said daddy. mostly it was just 'dada' but it was close enough right? the little blonde girl was a sick little girl though. she lungs were slowly but surely filling themselves with mucus, and sooner or later the little girl was going to end up in the hospital, and he hated that this happened to his girl. His Antoinette. After he knocked up Juliet at a party, since he was still in the closet when he did it, he felt bad and ended up coming out right before he left with Juliet to make sure that her and their baby was okay. sure, they weren't even friends, but that didn't change the fact he felt bad.
but that was in the past. what he was thinking of was Jarrod, his ex. he missed him, a lot. he actually really liked Jarrod, and it just happened to be that he forgot a condom that night, but juliet left him with the baby, not that jasper had even really liked her much anyway, she was really a bitch anyway. this was exactly why he never liked girls, and guys were the way to go. he had a hard time trying to raise antoinette on his own, but it wasn't like she was going to come back. she made that pretty clear when he told her that he actually was in fact gay. and to put it simply, she didn't like that news. she left him with the baby not long after she was born, and that was that. never came back.
but that was in the past, and antoinette was holding onto his leg as she tried her best to stand and stare at him as he pulled a shirt on. "hold on, antoinette. i'm getting dressed. then you need to get a new dress on, and we can go, baby." he said softly to the baby. he pulled the black shirt over his head before grabbing a leather jacket and then picked up the little girl. he picked her up and smiled at his daughter. he loved her a lot, even if it wasn't right that he did that to juliet, or jarrod for that matter. he kissed her forehead and walked into the baby's room, putting her down on the changing table. he grabbed a little dark purple and black with pink striped dress.
for a little girl, his daughter was already really cute and stylish. granted, her father was pretty feminine for a gay guy, not that he actually seemed to care. he liked the way that he was, except for the fact that he was alone here. he would kill to have jarrod around, he missed him a lot. but whatever, it didn't seem to matter that much anymore. it wasn't like he was going to see jarrod anytime soon anyway. shrugging to himself, he changed Antoinette, and then put a pair of little pink shoes that matched the pink on her dress. he stood her up and kissed her nose before pulling her into his arms and grabbed the keys to his apartment. the park wasn't that far away anyway, so he could just go walk to it and let her play in the grass or something.
it seemed good enough, right? since he didn't want her in the sand, she might eat it; and he didn't want her on the playset, she might get hurt. she was still to small to really play with any of the other kids. she was a lot smaller then all the other one year old children around, at least, so he thought. walking out of the complex, he smiled as he walked around the block to the park. the park was a very pretty green color, and antoinette seemed to smile instantly when she saw the park. that was exactly what she wanted, or so he guessed. she started to clap a bit, before sneezing "aw bless you, antoinette." he said to her
walking into the park, he walked in far enough were he couldn't see the street anymore before climbing off the path a few feet and put antoinette down. he laid down next to her and smiled at her. he was on his back, his black leather jacket just soaking up the sun. it was nice to feel the sun's warmth against the jacket, it warmed it up, and made it a little warm to wear, but he liked it. sure, he probably looked like a huge douchebag, or really gay, but he didn't care. he was really both, but it didn't really matter much. antoinette sat there pulling on the grass and giggling. she seemed to rarely do that, so this was big for her. as the proud dad watched his little girl he couldn't help but smile at her. she was just so cute.

Photography was the only thing that could drag Jarrod to the moon and back. Well, actually, he would enjoy the journey. He was always one for adventure and could see the bright side to pretty much any situation. If it was a crappy situation, well, he would some how make it fun. That was him. That was his style and he liked it. Now, there were only a few places he never wished to be. Hell would be one. The eighteen year old would be willing to visit, but not stay, of course. And the second place was, Texas. But there he was in Bellevue, Texas attending Witchita Falls College for photography.
Jarrod was still rather butt hurt about the whole situation with Jasper. After all, his best friend who he had been hooking up with back in Arizona, knocked up some girl at a party and left for Texas then dropped off the face of the planet. He really had tried not to hold a grudge against his former best friend which was totally out of character to him. In Jarrod's opinion, if someone screws you over, you never give them a second chance. Yes, he was a grudge holder, but he didn't want to be when it came to Jasper. Honestly, he would probably take the gay kid back in a heartbeat, but that's not exactly what Jarrod wanted. Well, it was, but it was a mess of a situation that he would rather not allow to consume his thoughts.
Instead, Jarrod engrossed himself in his photography. The only plus side about being in Texas was that it was a completely new place. It was perfect for photography purposes. He had hit up several places around Bellevue, but somehow missed the park. Jarrod reached for his camera and checked the battery. He had enough life and space to take some pretty spectacular photographs around the park. He slung the camera around his neck and put on his Vans.
Jarrod locked the key to his house. It was small for sure and he had only been able to afford it with the help from his mother, but it was his and he loved it. It only had two bedrooms and one bath and only enough space to park one car, but he didn't really need much else. It wasn't like anyone was living with him. Jarrod's feet had made their way to the park and he was grateful that everything was so close in this town.
The park was beautiful. Lush green trees and grass to match. Flowers littered the ground with confetti like colors. The playground filled with laughing children. He snapped a couple shots here and there but stopped when he saw the kids playing. He wondered how old Jasper's kid was now if she was even born yet. Jarrod shook his head. "You can't think of him each time you see a kid."
Jarrod continued down the path in the park and saw a toddler, more like a baby playing in the grass. She was absolutely adorable with her pink dress and pink shoes. Her parents definitely had style. Most kids wore mismatched clothes. He snapped a shot of her playing with the grass all smiles. Jarrod couldn't help but smile himself.
Suddenly, he felt weird that he had taken a picture of someone's kid without ask. Jarrod made his way to the baby girl, smile still on his face. He was so busy focused on the baby that he hadn't realized who was next to the girl until he was only a few feet away. He stopped dead in his tracks to see Jasper, jacket and all, sitting next to the girl. "Jasper?" Jarrod's voice was filled with shock even though he spoke barely above a whisper. What were the chances?

little antoinette was so cute. she had her father's looks, honestly, you couldn't even tell her mother had the darkest chocolate brown hair ever, or the brightest green eyes; she looked exactly like her jasper. the bleach blonde hair, the bright blue eyes, she looked exactly like him, and if he wasn't around here where everyone had kids, most people would think it's his sister, she looked so much alike to him. but no, he knocked Juliet up, and ruined things with Jarrod after telling him he knocked a girl up and was leaving with her so that he'd help support the baby. Honestly, jasper never cared about juliet, he just really wanted to be a good dad, since he grew up with the idea that you don't mess someone's life up without trying to fix it. He told her he wouldn't mind if she got rid of it, but she refused, so here he was, a little less then two years later, with a beautiful daughter.
even though antoinette would never really get to do a whole lot of things that jasper did growing up, he didn't seem to mind that. she would be fine, right? so she was a little smaller then the rest of the one year olds, so what? jasper was the smaller twin until he was nine when he had a growth spurt and now stood at just under six feet tall, while his sister wasn't nearly as tall as him. he was more like his father, who was six foot two, and skinny as hell. he was skinny, and stood at five eleven. running his hands through his bleach blonde hair, he smiled at his baby girl. she was happy, which he never seemed to see much of in her. a baby couldn't be depressed, right?
of course not, now he was just being crazy. fixing the sunglasses that rested on the bridge of his nose, he closed his eyes for a moment, letting his mind wander. maybe he would move back home. go see his mom and dad, let them meet their granddaughter, and go see Jarrod. but something in his heart told him Jarrod wanted nothing to do with him, which he would understand since he slept with a girl after years of sleeping with each other. they were pretty much dating, but jasper had been in the closet for so long was just a secret. but when he slept with juliet, even before she told him she was pregnant, he came out. he didn't like sleeping with girls, he liked sex with Jarrod a lot more. but he hurt him, and jasper was sure he'd never see Jarrod again.
opening his eyes, he reached his hand out to Antoinette, who grabbed one if his fingers and shook her arms, dragging his hand with her little arms. "what're you doing, baby?" he said, smiling at her. so he had to give up his family and his boyfriend to come here, but hell, he had a wonderful baby girl, and Juliet left him with the baby one day and never came back. it sorta hurt that she would do that to him, but he wasn't really that surprised, but he couldn't really do everything himself. hearing Antoinette cough, he snapped out of his little world and looked worried. "are you getting sick again?" he asked, mostly to himself, since he knew she wouldn't answer him. she seemed to always be sick, and that scared him, a lot.
not really paying attention to the world around him, he zoned completely out that other people were around in the park. hearing someone say his name, "what?" he said, confused before he looked up. no. it couldn't be. Jarrod. "jarrod!" he said, trying his best to hold back a smile. he missed him, a lot, but he knew he hurt him, but he couldn't help to see his ex boyfriend, who he was still sort of in love with, in front of him, pulling his hand away from Antoinette, he ran a hand through his hair again before sitting up, looking up at him. "what... what're you doing here?" he asked, confused. it was a long way from were they use to live, what was he doing here?

Jarrod cleared his throat. He really didn't know how to approach the situation at all. Half of him wanted to hug Jasper, forgive him for the shit that he had gone through, and just never let go. The other half of him wanted to build a wall around his heart, arm it with soldiers and canons, and pretend this whole encounter never happened. However, neither option seemed practical. Again, Jarrod cleared his throat and glanced at Jasper's daughter and smiled sweetly at her. He took a sweet next to the little girl. "Hey there, baby. You're absolutely adorable, aren't you?" His voice got all high pitched like he would if he were talking to one of his puppies. Well, Jarrod was never quite sure how to act around kids.
The raven haired boy glanced at Jasper and finally answered his question. "Well, I live here now. Uhm, I've been attending college here for photography for a few months now. I didn't know you were still in Texas." Of course that was a lie. Jarrod knew very well that Jasper was in Texas and lived super close to the college that he attended. Subconsciously, Jarrod had picked Witchita Falls for his college because he hoped that he would run into Jasper, but now that he had, he was flustered and unprepared.
He missed his best friend and ex. They shared parts of themselves with each other that could never be erased. Though now he would never admit it, he was in love with the kid. Jarrod looked at Jasper's daughter. She was a beautiful kid. He knew that he could never give Jasper a kid and didn't really blame him for leaving, but it was just all too much. He was heartbroken when Jasper left. He hoped that he could just forget the heartache and go back to old times.
Suddenly, Jarrod felt awkward sitting without invitation. He felt rude and out of place. He shifted in his seat. "So, where's the mom?" Jarrod didn't really know anything while Jasper was in Texas. All communication had been cut off. Not a phone call, text, or even a letter was sent. Jarrod tried to be rational. Jasper was taking care of a very pregnant teen mother. He was raising a kid. Jarrod was on the bottom of Jasper's list while he was in Texas, but still, he couldn't help but wonder what happened during the time the two best friends didn't talk. Jarrod always knew Jasper was very, very gay, but he did have sex with a girl. Maybe, for the sake of their daughter, he was with her.
Jarrod shook his head not wanting to think of think. It made him queasy thinking that the guy he was in love with, still in love with, was with someone else, a girl for that matter. He sighed. Of course he was being unreasonable. He couldn't expect Jasper to have the same feelings after all this time. He was a father now. Everything in his life had changed while Jarrod's life had remained the same. He had to get over the fact that he wasn't the main focus in the father's life anymore.

he couldn't believe that jarrod was here. he didn't know why, but he couldn't stay that he was upset that he was. he missed him, a lot. he wished that he could have brought with him here, but he didn't want to do that to him. he didn't want to rip jarrod away from everything like he had to. he wish that he had, then he would still have his boyfriend, still would be happy with him, he wanted his boyfriend back so badly. but he knew that that wasn't going to happen anytime soon, or even at all. jasper knew better to hope that they would go back to what was before. watching jarrod sit down next to his daughter, he watched jarrod try to talk to antoinette, who just sat there, barely sitting up. "she doesn't talk yet.. and she's got another cold.." he said, trying to sound like he isn't worrying, antoinette being sick was never good. the poor girl had been in the hospital a few times because of her disease.
oh. he was here for school. that was good he seemed to have moved on. he didn't want to think that maybe jarrod had moved on, and probably had another boyfriend. jarrod was much more, straighter looking. jasper was an extremely huge flamer. the way he dressed made him just look like he was gay, which he was. he was extremely gay and hated the fact that he actually was pressured into sleeping with juliet. he never told jarrod that, he never told him all of his friends pushed him into doing it, and they were both drunk anyway, he hated it. he truly did. he wanted nothing more then to go back to jarrod, curl up next to him and be happy just like that. that's all he really wanted. "oh. that's cool. do you like the school?" he asked. he didn't want to go to school, because his daughter was a full time job.
Jarrod wanted to know about Juliet? great. "well... she dropped her off at my apartment and left. she hated me anyway. we never got along so it wasn't like i didn't expect her to do it. not since the second time Antoinette was in the hospital.." he trailed off. he already felt like he had said to much. he almost never let anyone know that antoinette had been in the hospital, but he just blurted out that antoinette had been in the hospital more then once. she had been four times in her life already, and she was just over a year old. he didn't know what he was going to do, let alone pay for everything. they seemed to try to cut him a little slack, since he was the only one ever around julia. when she was there, he'd never leave, he'd sleep in a chair, and would only go home long enough to change his clothes, and take a shower before rushing back to his baby.
his baby was his world, and the thought that she might not make it to be five killed him. hearing antoinette cough again, he put his arms around the little baby and pulled her into his lap. he was protective of her, he wanted her to be healthy, and he wanted her to be okay. that's all he wanted. she was all he really had here. at least, he thought that until jarrod showed up. but they weren't about to get back together right away. jasper left him in the dirty told him he got a girl pregnant and he was going to go with her to texas. and he wished he didn't. "er.. sorry. you probably didn't need to know that.." he mumbled. kissing the little girl's head, he held her tightly to him. he didn't know what he was going to do with her. his daughter was sick, and tiny, even for someone who was to be small at that age anyway, she was smaller then everyone else. you could probably tell he was worried about his kid, that's what daddy's did though, wasn't it?
"please don't get sick again, antoinette.. please don't.." he muttered to the baby, who just sneezed as a reply. great. she was getting sick. he didn't want her sick, he wanted her safe, and happy and healthy. she wasn't. she was sick, she was tiny, and she wasn't okay.
